Art
Baroque painting paid attention to sentimentality and expressiveness of dramatically levelled compositions. It was based on the Contrapposto principle, which turns the hips and shoulders of figures in an opposite direction. There was a frequent use of chiaroscuro, contrasts and a play of light and shades on faces full of emotions. Smooth and warm color tones were used. Naked women bodies with fluttering hair and pieces of cloth, as well as battles, ceremonies and religious motives.
